Members of the group are available for work in all areas of property related law and in traditional Chancery work. We undertake advisory work and drafting at all stages of cases from pre-action protocol letters onwards. We appear at all levels of the civil courts from the County Court to Court of Appeal with more senior members having appeared in the House of Lords. In addition members appear before more specialist tribunals, such as the Rent Assessment Committee, the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal, the Lands Chamber of the Upper Tribunal (formerly the Lands Tribunal) and the adjudicator to HM Land Registry.
We are also regularly instructed in mediations and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Several members of the group are also qualified to act as mediators.
We will travel for site visits and can arrange conferences in any of our 5 centres, all of which have video-conferencing facilities. Conferences, advice and representation can be arranged at short notice in urgent cases.
A substantial part of our work comprises residential and commercial landlord & tenant disputes. Members of the group also have experience of leasehold enfranchisement, homelessness, housing (including Anti-Social Behaviour Injunctions) management and service charge disputes.
Our real property work includes boundary disputes, adverse possession, co-ownership disputes, trespass and nuisance, mortgages, conveyancing disputes, land registration, restrictive covenants and easements.
Several group members have considerable expertise on the Party Wall, Etc. Act 1996.
We undertake the full range of traditional chancery work including wills & administration of estates, contentious probate, Inheritance Act claims, trusts, charities, personal and corporate insolvency and partnership disputes.
Many members of the group also act in professional negligence matters arising out of the above subject areas.
