Employment

Andrew’s practice involves the full range of employment disputes for both claimants and respondents. He has good experience of multi-party and multi-day cases and has appeared in the Employment Appeals Tribunal. Andrew has particular experience in the field of costs in employment tribunals. He has lectured on maternity and paternity rights and the Working Time Regulations. 

Recent cases include:

• acting for a non-executive director claiming race discrimination against an NHS trust;
• representing over 25 claimants in an action against their insolvent employer;
• asserting rights against an employer who had sought to avoid TUPE through insolvency and transfer;
• claiming disability discrimination where an employer had adversely affected a former employee's subsequent job applications;
• advising a claimant who contended he had been forced to resign following a change in his beliefs.

Andrew has also lectured on maternity, paternity and adoption rights and working time restrictions and has a particular interest in cases involving religion or belief.
