Employment
Christian acts for both Claimants and Respondents in most areas of employment law, including, in particular dismissal (unfair, constructive and wrongful), sex and race discrimination, whistle blowing and unlawful deductions from wages. He is a member of the Employment Law Bar Association.
He regularly provides written advices on cases in the above areas, as well as preparing pleadings and schedules of damages and representing parties in cases that proceed to both preliminary and full hearings before tribunals.
He has appeared in numerous cases involving clients at all levels of seniority. Recent cases include representing:
- an employer of a polish national allegedly dismissed following her having fallen pregnant
- a top saleswoman who was claiming sex and race discrimination, whistle blowing and unfair dismissal from a company who had headhunted her for a senior position;
- an employer who dismissed an employee performing field IT support work for incapability;
- an employee who was dismissed as a result of a drink problem that had necessitated her absence from work for over 4 months;
- a well known fast food chain that were alleged to have unfairly dismissed an employee for drawing attention to the alleged unlawful deduction from employees wages of cash shortages on their tills, the claim thus also involving whistle blowing and unlawful deductions from wages.
- a manager at an advice centre for ethnic minorities who was dismissed following internal conflict in the management committee of the organisation.
