Chris has extensive experience of education law in the following areas, having both acted as a clerk and represented local authorities in the following:

  • Applications for Education Supervision Orders;
  • Grammar School Appeals;
  • Selection Appeals;
  • Prosecuting parents of truant children.

Licensing

Chris has experience of conduct appeals against local authority decisions both in internal authority appeals and at court.

S v Oxfordshire County Council [2010]
Appeal against decision to deny bus driver license to transport children. Previous conviction for sexual assault. Council discretion, given age of conviction.

Jackson v Borough Council of Kings Lynn and West Norfolk [2011]
Appeal to Magistrates’ Court against Council’s decision to revoke taxi and private hire driver’s licenses and private hire vehicle license.
