David has a broad-based commercial practice, with specialist interests in all aspects of financial services law and insolvency law. David has acted in cases involving regulatory rules made under FISMA 2000 and FSA 1986. He has a wide range of experience with regard to banks’ duties of confidentiality, factoring, guarantees, cheques, mortgages, consumer credit, and payments received by mistake. He also has relevant experience in investment and insurance litigation.

In addition to his particular specialisms, David advisers regularly in sale of goods, supply of services and other general commercial litigation.

As Visiting Senior Lecturer in Banking Law at SOAS, University of London, David has academic expertise in all aspects of banking law, including banking regulation. In 2009, David completed research funded by the Legal Research Programme of the European Central Bank on the appropriate regulatory structure for innovative financial products. He has a good understanding, both in theory and in practice, of regulatory issues in the financial services sector.
