Garvin Nicholas is a member of the Bar of England and Wales, Trinidad and Tobago and the Supreme Court of the Eastern Caribbean (Anguilla). He practises from Trinidad and Tobago (address below), but all enquiries should be directed to the Asset Forfeiture Group Clerk, David Phillips.

In addition to his legal activities Garvin has served as an elected Local Government Councilor and as a Senator in the Upper House of Parliament in Trinidad and Tobago.

Garvin has a common law practice covering the areas of criminal law, property law, family law, commercial law, employment law, personal injury, landlord and tenant and administrative law. Most notably, Garvin has been counsel for parties in the following two public inquiries:

  • Public Inquiry into the Elections and Boundaries Commission of Trinidad and Tobago;
  • Public Inquiry into the Construction of the Biche High School, Trinidad and Tobago

Garvin is representing a police officer in a Judicial Review of the Commissioner of Police’s decision to terminate a police officer for speaking back to the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago
