James frequently appears on behalf of leading UK financial institutions and corporations of all sizes. He has extensive experience in consumer credit law, factoring/invoice financing, sale of goods, contract and debt actions. He is the author of the article 'Hiring after Death' on consumer credit issues arising upon the death of the hirer.
James was described in the 2009 edition of Legal 500 as providing a "high quality service in insolvency matters". He has 15 years of experience representing insolvency practitioners, companies and individuals in all aspects of bankruptcy and insolvency law.
James advises on and acts in all aspects of land law from co-habitation to boundary disputes. He has extensive experience in advising on constructive and resulting trust matters and has address the Liverpool Law Society conference on cohabitation claims in the light of Stack v Dowden and the subsequent cases.
As an insolvency practitioner James is used to considering the claims of trustees in bankruptcy and liquidators to property and associated matters such as exoneration arguments and restitutionary claims.
