His recent cases have involved:
- Acting for an American technology company successfully arbitrating a dispute with a French multinational in the International Court of Arbitration.
- A claim for the resolution of a dispute over the development of technology in America involving UK scientists.
- Contractual claims of various sizes and complexity over the sale, ownership and condition of horses, cars and aircraft.
- Failed business agreements between horse breeders, property developers and designers.
- Disputes arising from contractual termination and commission payments.
- Agreements in restraint of trade between dentists, veterinarians and retailers.
- Construction disputes in respect of commercial and domestic properties.
- Professional negligence claims against solicitors, surveyors, doctors and veterinarians.
He is experienced in alternative dispute resolution whether mediation, round table or arbitration, and has delivered lectures to the Bristol Law Society and in-house training on Exclusion Clauses, Remedies, Experts and Gambling amongst other topics.
Recent cases
Darren Egan v Motor Services Bath Ltd [2007] EWCA Civ 1002, (2008) 1 All ER 1156: (2008) 1 FLR 1294: (2008) 1 WLR 1589(2008) 1 All ER 1156. An argument over the quality of a car, it was argued by the claimant that the car was defective and secretly repaired by the defendant. In the words of Dame Janet Smith: “Mr Weston readily despatched those submissions to the boundary”.
Ghariban Saki v Patrick Trant [2008] EWHC 492 (QB) A dispute as to the division of the proceeds of a multi-million pound Casino development in Southampton.
