Professional

Before returning to private practice at the Bar, for a number of years Paul was an employed barrister in solicitors’ practice. He worked for two major regional firms (where he was featured in both Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners as a leading construction lawyer).

Paul advises across a broad range of construction disputes, including standard and non-standard contracts. He appears regularly in Court and arbitration hearings and represents clients at mediation and in adjudication.

Paul has acted in a substantial number of property cases, including rights of way, boundary disputes and party wall disputes.

Over the last decade Paul has been involved in more than 150 mediations. His mediation practice is substantially based on construction and property disputes. However, he has also mediated disputes in other sectors - general commercial (e.g. franchising, sale of goods and partnership), personal injury and libel (which provided him with his most difficult mediation experience to date).

Living in Cardiff, Paul works as a mediator or assists clients in mediation principally in Wales, the South West, London and the Home Counties. However, as his recent experience demonstrates he travels widely in England and Wales.

Languages

Paul speaks fluent French and German and has a good knowledge (including written) of Spanish.
