Property & Chancery

Paul Newman undertakes both contentious and non contentious property-related work. He is authorised to accept instructions directly from members of the public in appropriate cases under the Bar Public Access scheme.

Examples of his property work include:

  • Rights of way
  • Boundary disputes
  • Matters arising under the Land Registration Act 2002
  • Trespass and nuisance
  • The Party Wall, etc. Act 1996
  • Adverse possession
  • Preparation of, and advice on, bonds and guarantees (e.g. section 38, 104 and 278 agreements)
  • Development agreements and agreements for lease

Paul is an author and regular columnist on legal topics. He has written for Construction Law, Tottel’s Construction Newsletter, Arbitration, Solicitors' Journal and The Legal Executive. He lectures on construction and property law.
