Philip is a commercial chancery practitioner who is regularly instructed to appear in the High Court and County Courts on all manner of hearings and applications. He is a member of our Property & Chancery Group, with particular experience in the following areas:

  • Commercial litigation: sale of goods, supply of services, general contractual disputes, the construction of contracts, agency, guarantees and indemnities, consumer credit agreements.
  • Corporate Insolvency & Company law: winding-up petitions, validation orders, applications for permission to bring proceedings, applications to delay date of dissolution, advising on application to restore company to the register.
  • Landlord and Tenant: commercial and residential landlord and tenant disputes, possession hearings, applications for new business leases, rent arrears and service charges, disrepair and dilapidation claims.
  • Personal Insolvency: bankruptcy petitions, applications to set aside statutory demands, annulment.
  • Property: nuisance, trespass, easements, mortgages, rentcharges.

In addition to appearing in court on a regular basis, Philip maintains a busy paper-based practice advising on disputes in these areas and drafting pleadings and other documents as required.

Philip is currently undertaking an LLM in International Commercial Practice at The College of Law. To date he has completed modules in International Capital Markets and Loans Practice, International Business Organisations Practice and International Public Companies Practice. Philip is keen to accept instructions which include elements of these areas of law.

Outside work Philip enjoys theatre, politics and good wine.
