Education law

Richard has a particular interest in education law and is able to accept instructions in a range of matters in this field, including contract, supply of goods and services and personal injury. Richard has a particular interest in cases concerning the law of negligence in institutions, and in matters of internal policy.

Richard will consider accepting instructions on a pro bono basis where appropriate.

Richard has significant experience of advising Independent Panels hearing admissions appeals under the Schools Admissions Appeals Code 2010, and appeals against decisions regarding grammar school placement. He has advised panels on a range of matters arising in hearings, particularly discrimination law and fairness of procedure (including Art.6 rights).

Richard is therefore familiar with the complex legislation and guidance in this field, and is able to provide clear, helpful advice on complex matters in the short timeframe required by panels.
