Richard Wheeler acts for both Claimants and Defendants in personal injury claims on the fast and multi track. He has notable experience in all the main aspects of liability and medical causation including cross-examination of experts. He has been instructed in related inquests. A recent notable case involved serious myofascial pain syndrome and chronic pain to a child. Accepts instructions under CFA.
Recent Notable Cases
S v B Severe fracture to leg. Advice, schedules and negotiation of damages in excess of £70,000 and costs of £40,000. Loss of earnings, Ogden multipliers, pension, loss of congenial employment, Smith v Manchester.
S v H Motorcyclist knocked off bike by van. Significant personal injury and consequential losses. Defence had two factual witnesses against the claimant alone. Advised claimant would win and did so at trial.
B v E Employer’s liability case involving Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 and Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992. Liability settled at door of court.
A v R Child case involving serious myofascial pain syndrome and chronic pain following major road traffic accident.
Re C Inquest into death from industrial disease. Cross-examination of pathologist as to contents of report and inconsistencies with medical records.
