Susan Solomon's principal areas of practice include:

  • Public law: issues arising from confiscation orders made in criminal proceedings and the Proceeds of Crime Act, with particular reference to ancillary relief claims. She is instructed by both the State and by private individuals in cases dealing with their competing interests. She has also lectured to solicitors on the Proceeds of Crime Act.
  • Professional negligence: acting on behalf of claimants and defendants in claims against solicitors and barristers (including wasted costs) arising out of family matters (financial, children and Inheritance Act claims), general common law and crime.
  • All types of ancillary relief claims, including many "big money" cases; Inheritance Act claims; co-ownership claims.

She has extensive experience of cases involving the analysis of company accounts and bank accounts and of working with forensic accountants, surveyors, valuers and medical experts.

Farrer v Copley Singletons [1998] P.N.L.R. 22 (CA) (solicitor's negligence in conveyancing transaction: instructed by Reynolds Porter Chamberlain on behalf of Solicitors Indemnity Fund)

C v C (Wasted Costs Order) [1994] 2 FLR 34 FD (claim for wasted costs, instructed by Reynolds Porter Chamberlain on behalf of BMIF)
